Welcome to Love & Learn
About Me
Hi! My name is Wendy. I am 33 years old, the oldest of three sisters. As a registered Early Childhood Educator, I have been working in licensed child care facilities for over 10 years. I am patient, positive and hardworking. We are a small family of three, my fiance Scott, our little girl Ruby and me. We don't have any pets and there is no smoking allowed in our home. We have a fenced backyard and are located in Corso Italia close to the downtown core, TTC and the 401.
I provide a fun, safe and nurturing environment for your little ones with nutritious meals and snacks. As a Registered Early Childhood Educator I understand the importance of making secure attachments as well as providing a stimulating environment that supports development. I have excellent references and I am certified in infant/child CPR. My immunizations and criminal references checks are up to date.
Philosophy
My core beliefs are:
-Children thrive best when provided a safe and nurturing environment that encourages exploration and creativity.
-Each child must feel that they are loved, valued, respected, and feel safe.
-Consistent and responsive relationships are essential to the health, well being and learning of young children.
-Play provides time for children to experiment and explore their world, to learn and to grow. It is through play that children learn about themselves, building self confidence and feelings of fulfillment. Children’s play becomes their work as they discover new materials in the environment.
-Children’s natural curiosity and eagerness to learn are enhanced if children are free to follow their natural interests.
Program
My child-centered program focuses on developing well-rounded, secure and self-confident children, while having fun and making new friends. A lot of our programming occurs in the moment, taking advantage of simple everyday learning opportunities. . My program allows for each child to play in situations that will facilitate the growth of physical, emotional, social and cognitive skills. I plan activities according to the interest of the child and provide a wide range of hands-on, interactive activities that allow children to experiment and actively explore their surroundings such as:
Parents will receive daily reports explaining how and what your child ate, how they slept and activities we did for the day. An important part of our program includes taking pictures during activities and fun times during the day. Pictures and messages will be sent to you via email.
